Don't believe the hype! June 13, 2010 J. Swales (UK) I've been trying this product on and off over the last year. I'm not overly hairy or anything but like most guys want to be able to take off my shirt in the summer (I bought this last summer) but don't want to look like Chewbacca. So I often find myself shaving my chest, stomach and the top part of my "bikini" line.
Anyway the product itself comes nicely packaged and the bottle it comes in is really nice and doesn't give a feminine look to the product. Application of the product is very simple and can be done just using cottonwool pads. It does smell horrendous and I wouldn't advise using it before a possible intimate time with your partner. Once applied it stings ALOT and I've got very good skin that usually doesnt get effected by anything. If you have sensitive skin I would say this product (which contains an acid) would not be advisable for you at all.
So last summer I bought this product to try and get rid of a massive amount of "razor burn" or ingrown hairs before heading to the beach on holiday, unfortunatly it did not work in the slightest. I was very dissapointed especially after spending so much money on the product.
This summer I've been using it religiously 3-4 times a day and making sure to exfoliate excessivly every day in order to try and reduce the number of ingrown hairs. Although not perfect it is better than the first time I used it.
Overall I don't think the product works well enough to consider buying a new bottle, and using it 3-4 times a day really does get through the bottle fast! Although I did see some improvement in the condition of my ingrown hairs, its not enough to make me consider buying this product again.
Pros: Works better than most ingrown hair solutions
Cons: Expensive, painful, results leave a little to be desired
Good, but dangerous? March 29, 2010 Anna Austen (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find this product really does work, but that, along with the smell, slightly worries me! What is it doing to my skin, long term? As someone else says, it smells like nail polish remover, and putting something that smells so corrosive on my skin, has the potential to ruin my skin, i could suppose. And to be honest, when we went on holiday last year i put this product in a travel size bottle, and by the time we arrived at our destination this product had slightly melted? this plastic bottle to the point that the lid had come off and the product was all over my other toiletries!
But in saying that....
I have been using it regularly for about a year, and my skin seems ok, (im 32 with combination skin which is not especially sensitive or anything)...so i do recommend this product if you want something that works, but that recommendation would come with a warning about the unknown long term effect on one's skin.
It works for me March 14, 2010 Anon I had suffered for years with ingrowing hairs. Using this product practically eraticated them. I now get them now and again, but no where near like before.
Converted! November 25, 2009 Dander1980 (London, UK) I am generally a cynical person and don't believe most of the stuff my bikini waxer tells me, but after years of painful (and often infected) ingrowing hairs, I thought I'd try it. I have really fine hair so they get into my skin really easily and are difficult to remove. Even after the first go,the hairs came through the skin easily. Its made a massive difference. Definately give it a go...
Great and keeps working November 3, 2009 Ms. J. Kirton (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have real issues with ingorwing hair this product is briliant
I would highly advise you wera gloves or wacs your hands immediately after
basically it dries out the top layer of skin so you have newwer fresher hair
it immdiately removes the very top layer of skin so you can see instanly hairs pop up
Its really good but dont over use as you skin can get thin and sore
its syliactic acid or something that sounds like that
they use it in some spot treatments but a weaker solution
but this is the one oand only thing i have used that has help me reduce the ingrowing hairs i have had a problem with for years
