Cheap and cheerful August 8, 2010 Steve (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does as it says on the tin!
It is a cheap and cheerful solution, if you don't have the time or money for expensive calipers, or if you intend to take the measurements yourself. It will still allow you to notice the increase/decrease change whether accurate or not - though make sure you look at online resources to learn how to measure properly.
In case anyone is looking for an incredibly accurate measuring item - clearly at this price, this device is not for you. There has been one study which shows this to be accurate within 1.1% of underwater bodyfat measurements, but I understand the accuracy actually differed WIDELY between the individual participants in the study.
This does not take anything away from the item though :) Overall, satisfied and meets my requirements!

Usefull July 20, 2010 J. Le Bailly 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Easy to use and well detailed for calculating your body fat and ideal fat percentage, weight etc..Can't hear the click when taking your fat measurement. A bit disappointing but useful and handy to have.
Accu Measure Very Accurate and Motivational July 13, 2010 Mr. Kyle W. A. Smith (Cwmbran, UK) i am very pleased with the accuracy of the fat tester, it is very motivational to my training as every week i get results as little as they may be at times they keep me going. i highly recomend this to anyone looking to reduce their body fat through diet and exercise and the chart is very easy to read
Overpriced flimsy plastic July 13, 2010 Bat 'n' Ball The technology in use here is quite simply flimsy plastic, with a questionable method of alerting the user as to when to take a reading.
The unit is theoretically designed to click at the point when a reading should be taken but in practice it can click at different points each time.
This is because the unit is flimsy. You have to make sure the small 'ball and socket' bit of the device which clicks together is aligned perfectly because if it isn't, it will almost certainly click at a different point, giving different, therefore misleading readings!
Measuring body fat is not an exact science anyway so you need to at least start off with some degree of accuracy to begin with to be in with a fair chance of getting a good idea of how you are doing.
You have to also ask yourself; over time, won't the small plastic ball that clicks into its socket wear due to friction?
You do not have to be an engineer to conclude that this will certainly suffer friction wear over time and if the 'ball' goes into its `socket' easier as time goes by because of wear due to friction, you will be misled even further by inaccurate readings.
Save your money for something better.
