A great product, one of the few that has any effect in my hair! I am cursed with thick hair, but this seems to work well, doesnt have a strong smell and is easy to wash out. It even seems to last well in wet weather.
One critisism i do have is the price for the amount you get per tube,although it is a few £'s less on amazon than it is in the shops.

I've always struggled to find decent products to style my hair. I have quite coarse hair which goes fuzzy easily and doesn't stay where it's put - so in the past I've often ended up overloading it with product just to get it to stay styled!
However I've found Fudge products generally to be really good. Matte Hed is great - although it's not strong enough on its own to style my hair, it's a good 'base' for other products, such as Fudge Shaper cream, Fudge Fat Hed or American Crew Fiber. Having a base product means you can style (or blow dry, which I do sometimes - give it a try boys, the dryer's not just for girls you know) the basic shape and then finish using a stronger product. This also means you use a lot less of both - a squidge of Matte Hed on my finger is enough to shape my hair.
Plus, it smells nice - it has an appealing clay-like sort of smell - pleasant and not perfumed.

The problem when reviewing any hair product is that not only do people use them in differing ways, but at the end of the day, we all have different hair in the first place. And while I appreciate the series of positive reviews so far for the Fudge Matte Hed paste, my experience has been underwhelming. I have medium-length straight hair, and found the paste to be as useful as soft margarine. It applies easily, but doesn't have enough strength if, like me, you have very thick hair.
A consolation is that it washes out incredibly easy! I do wish more companies would take note and make their products easier when washing. I've tried 'clay' in the past, and it wouldn't even wash out after two rinses, so this Paste has been a revelation. Though obviously, when you're out in the rain, it'll wash out just as easy and leave you with a creamy hay-stack up above.
I don't think i'll buy this Paste again based on the fact I don't find it value for money (particularly with the small amount in the tube, and its 'fake' bottom). While it adds some descent definition, it holds well on shorter hair as I found after I had my hair-cut, and gives a bit more of a natural look. But the awful cucumber scent, lack of strength and content makes it a no-go for me.

I have very thick black hair and based on the reviews for this item I thought it would do the trick. This does provide a very good hold but didn't give the finish i was after and my hands felt a bit like putting glue into my hair. Good for some people but this item wasn't for me.
